£37,000.00 - 45,000.00 Per Annum
Working with a leading financial provider based in Edinburgh, we’re seeking an experienced Technical Paraplanner to play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality client advice across the business. This isn’t just about drafting reports—it’s about becoming a trusted partner to advisers, mentoring colleagues, and delivering intelligent, client-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce clear, insightful and technically robust advice reports across a wide spectrum of financial planning areas.
• Carry out in-depth research and analysis on client products and investments, presenting findings in a way that adds real value.
• Support financial planners in building cashflow models and bespoke investment proposals.
• Ensure advice files are fully compliant and accurately maintained within our Practice Management System (Xplan).
• Mentor and train Client Service Associates, Paraplanners and Graduates, actively sharing knowledge and best practice.
• Keep ahead of FCA rules and regulatory changes, embedding compliance into daily practice.
Requirements:
• Strong technical expertise with clear communication skills and a proactive approach
• Detail-oriented, organised, and client-focused, with the confidence to work independently while juggling multiple priorities
• Minimum 2–3 years in a paraplanning role (or equivalent)
• Strong financial services knowledge covering various advice areas
• Skilled with research tools such as FE Analytics and cashflow modelling
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and ideally have experience of Xplan (or a similar Practice Management System).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent), or working towards qualification.
• Support provided should you wish to work towards Level 6 and Chartered status.
Salary: Up to £45,000
