(JM29) Bid Writer

Enfield | £40,000.00 - 45,000.00 Per Annum

Working in partnership with a family run, utility services business which has been in business for 50years, we are delighted to be recruiting for a Bid Writer to join their very successful team based in Enfield, London.  The role is permanent and full-time Monday to Friday – 45hours per week. It has come about due to an increase in business, so this is an exciting time to join a growing company! The role offers flexibility to work from home for 2-3 days a week and you should have a full driving license.

Role Purpose
As a Bid Writer, you will work under the supervision of a Bid Manager and will assist them in developing a proposal structure.  The role also requires reviewing and editing previously written content where necessary, working with other bid team members to produce written bid responses and presentation collateral in line with deadlines.
The role will involve writing content for use in the bid, and presentations and all supporting documentation, ensuring a cohesive and consistent approach.

Key Competencies
  • Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent qualification. Candidates without this level of education may be considered if they can demonstrate suitable work experience.
  • Professional Qualification such as MICE, MCIOB, MRICS, RIBA or APMP
  • Excellent literacy skills with an extensive vocabulary
  • Deadline driven with effective time management skills.
  • Thrive in a busy environment with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
  • Experience in the construction sector with proven bid team involvement
  • Can demonstrate effective bid writing skills, producing concise and compelling content.
  • Technical writing skills displaying creative flair in submissions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to obtain accurate high-quality information from all bid stakeholders to produce bid collateral.
  • Excellent communicator with a strong command of spoken and written English
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to engage with all stakeholders at all levels.
  • Team player with ability to help give team members the necessary skills and confidence to write and produce materials themselves.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • A high attention to detail with an excellent editing and proofing ability
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Office and database software.

In return you will receive a salary between £40,000 - £45,000 per annum - depending on experience, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, plus many other benefits including:
